Hi I’m Steve Hoke, the creator and coordinator of CDL Class A Job Match.
I have been in the transportation and trucking industry for over 40 years in various positions including Vice-President of Operations, General Manager, and Owner/President. Recently I decided that I wanted to make a change in the industry and thought I’d try something new. I sold my company and started OTR Job Match in order to change the all-too-common tradition of continual driver turnover.
Drivers are constantly changing jobs every six months or so because they think the next job will give them what they’re looking for. When the next job ends up not being quite right either, they try for the next one hoping that will provide them with the lifestyle they’re looking for. This didn’t seem like the best lifestyle for either driver or company, so I came up with a revolutionary concept of actually asking the drivers in search of new trucking jobs this very important question: “What are YOU looking for?”
Since I started asking drivers this question and paying attention to their detailed responses, I’ve been able to place countless drivers in jobs they actually like with the benefits they’ve been searching for. Instead of just finding “a job” for drivers and owner-operators, I wanted to find them “the job” at a company that will match their wants and needs so they would stay with that company for many years.
My vision with CDL Class A Job Match is all about making people and their families happy which in turn makes the companies happy, and so far it has made quite a difference.
